Return to Bayfront Park

On Saturday after my daily blood draw for the research study I'm in, D. and I went over to Bayfront Park (home to The Void) for a couple of hours, and I took a few pics.

Baylands Marsh & Adobe Creek

On Saturday D. and I went to visit the marshes at The Baylands Nature Preserve on the edge of San Francisco Bay (with a side trip to nearby Adobe Creek) in Palo Alto, and I took these pics.

Ed R. Levin County Park

On Saturday D. and I decided to go to Ed R. Levin County Park and take a walk. Here are some pics I took.

The southern portion of the park, known as the Spring Valley Area, is named for the many springs that flow year-round in this area. We begin our walk at the scenic pond, a kids-only fishing hole.

An Alien World in Menlo ParkOn Saturday D. and I went to the salt crystallization ponds in Menlo Park, where we found an alien landscape with few traces of life (and what little life there was struggling to survive). Sweeney Ridge

On Sunday D. and I went up to Sweeney Ridge in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. Sweeney Ridge is significant for being the site of the European discovery of San Francisco Bay (the native Ohlone Indians already knew about it) as well as the site of a Cold War-era Nike missile control station, and noted for its stunning views ( Read more... )

Coyote Point

On Sunday D. and I decided to head on up to Coyote Point in San Mateo, and I took some pics. Here they be.
